Claridges

‘Everything Claridges Beautiful’

Claridges do Weddings so well, and this Wedding was with no exception! Breathtaking Design, and Pastel floral palettes of Peonies and Roses complimenting the stunning interiors of this magnificent venue. The masters of luxury Wedding Dress apparel, Galia LaHav, dressed Rosie with the always ‘wow’ factor glamour and elegance, along with every girls dream Wedding Shoe Manolo Blahnik. Mark displayed his own personal touch of exquisitely restored cars, Aston Martin & Bugatti which, were both very much a part of their special day and admired by many at the entrance of this historic building.  The unusally calming pre Wedding morning, held in the incredible Queens suite, followed by the newly renovated Mirror Ballroom for the Ceremony and Wedding Dinner, hosted by the couples close friend Bobby Davro. Fabulous Food, Laughter, and some crazy dancing with Blue Lion Band having everyone up on their feet.
‘Aww Catherine the Photo’s are so beautiful!!!  LOVE the Aston shot.  We had the best time and you were absolutely awesome!!  Loved you and thankyou so much for making it so special and fun.’

The Hilton Hotel

‘Winter Love & a whole lot of cuddling’

Myself and Lindsay had met through a friend, (even though you would think we’d known each other for years).  We had a hilarious zoom call joined by Les, where we all also met the family including introductions from my dog and their new puppy who was such a scamp. It’s so magical when everyone just gets on so well, no dramas just pure happiness.  The big day was upon us, it was late afternoon and I had forgotten how wonderful it was to be in a Church for a Christmas Wedding.  Continuing the celebrations, Les and Lindsay headed to the illuminated Hilton Hotel, where we had the opportunity to create some beautiful outdoor photos. The warm and dreamy spectacle of fairy light heaven was set for a cosy and romantic Wedding dinner.  Oh and what a paaaaaaarty that followed.

Hawkstone Hall

‘Love, Laughter and a very well behaved Puppy & Cat’

Kyle & Alex’s Wedding had everything!  The kindest and calmest couple (whether they felt the calmness as much as us I’m not sure but they appeared it)!  I had met this couple on numerous events and chats at Hawkstone Hall and they were the most laid back couple I have ever worked with.  Unlike most, they had not postponed or rescheduled their day which was a refreshing change!  That said, their guests were still ready to party like it was the first time they had been let out.  A lovely warm day, crazy flower girls, pageboys, confetti cannons, and a brother that seem to be everywhere making sure things ran smoothly for his sister!  We covered everything, there were dogs, cats, mini golf and deck chairs.  A day to always remember.

‘The Blessing’

David & Emily, I’m thinking thought their day was never going to arrive, having moved their Wedding day a record six times.  However with this challenging time bought a blessing right in the middle, in the form of a little miracle, their beautiful flowergirl and daughter.  A calm, intimate, and ‘love filled’ Hawkstone Hall ceremony was a perfect fit for David & Emily.  The weather held, enabling us to photograph natural portraits around the grounds, followed by the fabulous light of the Winter Garden for a handful of Bride and Groom Photos.  As the sun set I departed leaving this Wedding Party, to have it’s eagerly anticipated catch up.

‘Spoilt for choice’

Matt & Charlotte radiated sunshine vibes on another beautifully sunny day in the amazing grounds of Hawkstone Hall, among the rolling hills of the Shropshire countryside.  This is the venue that keeps giving and I always feel so incredibly spoilt when Photographing here, as there are always new spots to discover and florals that are breathtaking.  I cannot wait to Photograph this lovely couples’ Wedding Day.  So very in love and massively excited which is so wonderful to capture, the buzz that surrounds them is infectious!

‘Summer Love’

What a calm couple, nothing seemed to faze these two.  Having met at one of the Hawkstone Hall Wedding Showcases, I knew they were going to be the most wonderful Bride & Groom to Photograph.  They embraced every element of the day providing me with an abundance of content, an absolute dream for a Wedding Photographer.  We were incredibly spoilt with amazing light throughout the day, finishing with a fabulous sunset which lit up the surrounding grounds in the most magical way.

The Arts Club

‘Sublimely Perfect at the Arts Club’

This was an incredibly special, intimate, emotional Wedding with two of the loveliest individuals, and the kindest and friendliest guest list.

The very private ceremony took place at the charismatic Chelsea Town Hall with a handful of witnesses, followed by a confetti filled exit where the couple were joined by the remaining guests who were delighted to be a part of this sunny Wedding Day.  The secret venue for the elegantly opulent dinner was revealed as the prestigious Arts Club.  This was a party where the guests mingled like their life depended on it!  Two dresses, fabulous venue, amazing chat, exquisite food surrounded by ‘Nothing can separate us’ artwork was a wonderful day to be remembered forever x

‘Pre-shoot Heaven’

Like so many of my couples at this time, Connor & Olivia were so desperate to get married.  With this in mind the only compromise at this point was to go ahead with a Pre Wedding Photoshoot to give them an element of excitement, in the hope that their Wedding was going to go ahead as planned, having moved it several times already.

Many couples use the Wedding Pre-Shoots as a ‘practice’ for their special Wedding Day Photos.  Whilst Connor and Olivia, like so many couples felt they weren’t comfortable infront of the camera, this was a perfect opportunity, and I can honestly say they ended up being amazing!  With a combination of lots of laughs and beautiful light the results speak for themselves.

OLLIE & LAURA

‘Love Conquers all’ Our Elopement

Everything is a bit different this year, so following in those steps, I thought it would be lovely to share this piece/testimonial on Laura & Ollie’s elopement written by the couple themselves, rather than me!
‘We were originally planning to have a big wedding last July, but like every other couple planning a 2020 wedding, our plans couldn’t go ahead. Rather then putting our wedding on hold for God only knows how long, we decided to Elope to Gretna Green and have a Christmas wedding – just the two of us and the dog! We’d both been married before so secretly a smaller wedding a second time around was perfect.
We hadn’t actually gotten around to booking a photographer for our July wedding before it was postponed, as we were a bit delayed pulling it all together. Catherine had reached out to me in the Summer to see if we wanted any outside engagement photos done, which due to the lack of a hair appointment and four inches of roots I never took her up on! However when we decided to elope, she was first on my list to call.
Even though it was only going to be a very small wedding, we still wanted to beautifully document the whole day and decided against using the standard photographer that Gretna Green provided. We wanted a range of timeless, creative and personal photos that we could keep for ever.  Our Wedding was to be featured in Hello magazine, so we knew the importance of using a photographer that had worked with magazines before. Catherine has worked with numerous magazines throughout her professional career which made us incredibly comfortable and confident in her ability to make things run smoothly.
Covering our elopement was no mean feat – three hours drive to The Lake District with Pre Wedding Photographs of us getting ready at the hotel, a forty five minute drive to Gretna Green for the perfectly intimate ceremony. Then finally an hour and a half race back to Lake Windemere in some of the worst weather conditions, chasing the light for stunning creative shots in the breathtaking countryside. Oh and by the way, can you stay until it’s dark so we can have a load of pictures of us in our camper van, sat round a camp fire? Catherine was so unbelievably flexible and worked with all our crazy ideas to make the impossible possible, whilst personalising everything to us. She even borrowed a pair of wellies and waded into the lake to capture THE shot of the day! That’s dedication!
We are absolutely blown away by the quality of our photos.  They have perfectly documented every part of our elopement so that all our family and friends that weren’t able to share our wedding with us due to the restrictions now feel like they have been part of it. It’s so hard to choose our favourite images! Catherine’s attention to detail and creativity is second to none – she has over delivered on everything we asked her to do. Having her as part of our wedding was the best investment we could make.
If you are considering eloping in these uncertain times then my advice to you would be, not to think that a photographer is obsolete just because you are having a small wedding. Use the money you are saving to invest in a great photographer. Catherine is the ultimate professional and I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again when we can throw a massive party to celebrate!
Thank you and Congratulations Ollie and Laura

TOM & SARAH

‘The Ultimate Christmas Proposal’

What a fantastic call to receive in the midst of all the pandemic chaos! Tom called me with this wonderful idea of proposing to his lovely girlfriend Sarah on Christmas Eve morning (a dry but very cold one). He had faced so many hurdles, with restrictions and venues closing, but he continued on his quest. Popping the question not only at the amazing Hawkstone Hall but also coming up with several plans so she didn’t guess, all of this on her Birthday and days before their planned trip to Cuba (of which the dog’s ate the visas the day before). As they drove down the (what felt like very long) drive, myself and the staff at Hawkstone held our breathe trying to keep those impressive entrance steps clear. Sarah jumped out of the car as Tom desperately tried to find the ring box which he’d dropped in the car! I had stopped her, claiming I was doing Photo’s for the hotel. In a blink of an eye Tom was on his knee, asking that all important question. A complete success and surprise, and with no hesitation we heard those magical words ‘I do’ .

JAMES & CHARLOTTE

‘Against the Odds’

With everything stacked against them and the restrictions changing all the time, Charlotte and James decided they still wanted to go ahead with their Wedding, taking the stance, ‘Love Conquers all’. However a smaller intimate Wedding of just 30 people, almost like a practice run for the larger event due the following year, began taking shape. Dressed in a beautiful Suzanne Neville dress, laced with opulence and exquisite detailing Charlotte lit up the room. The guests were requested to wear masks throughout the ceremony (another abnormality thrown into this year), everyone was so thrilled to be there, to celebrate love, something everyone, including myself was missing. Evidence that even when spending your day on a smaller scale, can be just as magical and that small is beautiful. Watch this space for the next installment next year!

It was so wonderful to be able to capture their story by photographing then as a newly engaged couple.

SAUL & LOUISA

‘Childhood Sweethearts’

Two of the most adorable people, and childhood sweethearts too.

Saul and Louisa’s message was simple, ‘I just want to marry my best friend’ and start the next chapter of our life together.

Romona Keveza and Dior dressed the beautiful Louisa, with the assistance of Jimmy Choo. She looked sensational entering the ceremony, clear for all to see by the lovely Saul’s expression on her entrance.

Louisa’s parents, so kind, warm and incredibly loving, had thought of every last detail to perfection in this tremendously opulent and intimate soiree, held at the fabulous Lanesborough Hotel in Mayfair.

The tables in the Belgravia were bursting will breathtaking flowers courtesy of Wild at Heart  , Chanel perfumed presents, and a magnificent cake by the amazingly talented Cakes by Krishanthi.

A beautiful and wonderfully pretty day.

SCOTT & MEAGAN

‘America to Cotswolds Castle’

Flying the family over to exclusively occupy the impressive Eastnor Castle for the weekend, was a rare and real treat for this couples family. Having met through Eastnor Castle, we had chatted primarily over email and it soon became apparent that whilst Meagan was someone who knew what she wanted, she was also incredibly relaxed.

They literally had the run of the Castle starting with a small ceremony in the drawing room, ministered by one of their friends, followed by a drinks reception on the lawn overlooking the castle grounds and beyond.  Fnally an intimate and charming meal in the dining hall, filled with overwhelming displays of emotion.

It was time to have a quick recharge (Lemn Tea), and then on their own custom dance floor with their own personal playlist they ‘danced their pants off’, just the way it should be.

‘Australia meets Irish’ Porto Azzuro, Zakynthos

Alex and Ryan’s wedding was bursting with personality, the Aussie laid back manner and the Irish traditions of singing and dancing, meeting in the middle with the love for celebrating everything! One thing you can always guarantee in Zante is the fabulously scorching weather clearing a warm 35 degrees at 6pm but this didn’t faze either of them as they wed on the beach, sand under foot. Incredible food and fantastic music meant some serious partying in the med was had by all, under those magical stars.

‘Bohemian Charm’ South Farm, Cambridgeshire

A beautiful Farmhouse fused with a feeling of a French Chateau in the heart of Cambridgeshire is how I would describe this venue. It successfully housed the Wedding Day of the loveliest of two ladies, and ended up being one of my favourite Weddings.

South Farm has been described as Rustic and Boho, which was a perfect fit for Katie and Abi. Combined with the abundance of nature, the buckets of beautiful sunshine and finished off with the most delicious Vegan meal, created a very personalised and special Wedding for two people very much celebrating love.

‘The Floating Church’ Normanton Church, Oakham

Water provides a scenic setting for the fairy-tale splendour of Normanton Church, a structure that appears to float on the lake when the reservoir is full. A warm breeze meant that these childhood sweethearts were able to spend as much time outside as in, the cutest of couples.
