Italy WeddingsJournal

Every year I feel luckier and luckier to do the job I do, and to meet the most wonderful couples.  This year brought me back to, what I’d like to call my second home of Lake Como, followed by a marathon road trip to Rome.

Our journey began at the amazing Villa Lucia overlooking Lake Como in preparation for another memorable Wedding at Villa del Balbianello.  This breathtaking location seems to become more and more beautiful the more times we visit, words literally do not do it justice, and as a Destination Wedding location it is always at the top of my list.

After a wonderful display of love and joy at our first Wedding it was back on the road heading for the busy and cultural city of Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region.  A site visit at the Historic and opulent Four Seasons and the thrilling opportunity to peruse the expansive gardens filled with statues, and fountains, whilst just steps away from the heart of Florence, was magical.  With romantic views of the Duomo, why wouldn’t you choose this as your place to say ‘I do’.

This opulent haven indulges you in the enveloping countryside, at the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco. An incomparable Luxury hotel set in one of Italy’s best-preserved historic estates. From exclusive shopping to culinary teaching, overlooking the Tuscan Landscapes, an experience not to be missed.  If it is privacy and undeniable service you seek this is the Wedding Experience to top all.

Arriving for our final Wedding in Orvieto, I don’t think we were quite prepared for the narrow roads, thank goodness we had an appropriate vehicle!  Staying literally on the square of the incredibly impressive Duomo di Orvieto was a spectacle in itself.  The three day Wedding held primarily at La Badia (as seen in Vogue Magazine), is described as an ‘Island of stone in a sea of green’, views of Orvieto can be seen as a backdrop to this fairytale venue.

Final stop on our whirlwind road trip was the romantic and charismatic Roma.  To say we wanted to feel every inch of this city in 24 hours is an understatement. Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps, The Coliseum, the Roman Fort, the Vatican so much beauty and culture, and even a quick Wedding.  A planned destination Wedding here would be overflowing with stories.
